The University of South Carolina issued an alert shortly after 6:45 pm regarding a possible active shooter near the Thomas Cooper Library in Columbia, SC.
In response, the school instructed students to:
- Evacuate the area immediately
- Seek shelter
- Barricade themselves if necessary for their safety
Authorities are currently investigating the situation but have stated there is no evidence of an active shooter on campus at this time.
