Virginia Giuffre, a prominent accuser in the Jeffrey Epstein case who previously alleged that Prince Andrew sexually abused her, recently shared that she was involved in a serious car accident with a school bus.
In an Instagram post on March 30, Giuffre posted a photo of herself in a hospital bed, her face covered in bruises. She described the accident, saying the bus, traveling at 110 km/h (68 mph), hit her car while it was slowing for a turn. Giuffre stated that she was in kidney renal failure and had been given four days to live. However, authorities in Australia, where she resides, have since expressed skepticism about the severity of her injuries.
Giuffre’s spokesperson, Dini von Mueffling, confirmed that Giuffre was receiving medical care and appreciated the support from well-wishers. Despite the harrowing post, there were no specific details provided about the time or location of the crash, though Giuffre is listed as domiciled in Australia in previous legal filings.
Giuffre became widely known in 2019 when she publicly accused Epstein of trafficking her and forcing her into sexual encounters with his associates, including Prince Andrew when she was 17 years old. Prince Andrew has vehemently denied the allegations. In 2021, Giuffre filed a lawsuit against him, accusing him of sexual abuse. The following year, the case was settled out of court for an undisclosed sum. As part of the settlement, Prince Andrew also pledged a substantial donation to Giuffre’s charity, which supports victims’ rights.
Epstein, who was convicted in 2008 on state prostitution charges, faced federal sex trafficking charges when he was arrested in 2019. He died by suicide in prison before he could stand trial.
