The New York Knicks’ 116-95 win over the Miami Heat on Monday night at Madison Square Garden was briefly delayed after actor and comedian Tracy Morgan vomited courtside. The incident, which occurred during the game, resulted in a 10-minute stoppage as arena staff worked to clean the affected area.
Morgan, 56, was seated in his usual courtside spot when he suddenly became sick and vomited onto the floor in front of him. It remains unclear what led to the illness, but he was eventually taken out of the arena in a wheelchair. There have been no further updates regarding his condition or whether it was related to his past health issues.
Morgan, a Bronx native and lifelong Knicks fan, is best known for his work on Saturday Night Live and his role as Tracy Jordan on NBC’s 30 Rock. Over the years, he has battled significant health challenges, including a kidney transplant in 2010. In 2014, he was involved in a devastating car accident that left him in a coma for two weeks and required extensive rehabilitation. However, there is no confirmation that his medical history played a role in Monday’s incident.
Despite the strange and unexpected delay, the Knicks had no trouble securing a dominant victory over Miami. After a slow start that saw them fall behind by double digits in the first quarter, the Knicks took control in the second half. They outscored the Heat 41-15 in the third quarter, effectively putting the game out of reach.
Mikal Bridges led New York with 28 points, while Karl-Anthony Towns added 23 points and seven rebounds. With the win, the Knicks improved to 43-24 on the season as they continue their push for a strong playoff position.
The Knicks will turn their focus to their next matchup against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night in Texas.
