Brazilian child actress Millena Brandão, known for her role in Netflix’s Sintonia, has tragically passed away at the age of 11

Millena Brandão, an 11-year-old Brazilian child star who appeared in Netflix’s teen drama Sintonia, tragically passed away on May 2, 2025. The Brazilian preteen was hospitalized with an unexplained disease days before her death, suffering cardiac arrest 13 times.

Thays explained that from April 24, her daughter began to have severe headaches, pain in her legs, drowsiness, and a loss of appetite. Millena was taken to see a doctor, but was not properly diagnosed.

“She had a headache, but she could walk and talk. The doctor said it was dengue fever, but he didn’t administer any tests. He told us to take her back home and give her dipyrone,” her mother told the sources.

Thays described how Millena’s pain became so severe that she was unable to walk. They returned to the hospital on April 26, but she was ultimately sent home again to rest. Two days later, Millena fainted in her bathroom at home.

Following her collapse at home on April 29, she was admitted to Grajaú General Hospital in São Paulo. She underwent a CT scan that detected a 5-centimeter mass in her brain, although the cause of the mass is unknown since there is no neurologist at the hospital.

“She put her hand on her head and screamed in pain,” Thays recalled.

While hospitalized, Millena experienced a total of 13 cardiac arrests and several respiratory failures. She never regained consciousness despite medical treatment and was eventually declared brain dead. Her parents made the tragic choice to disconnect her from life support.

Millena’s mother, Thays, posted an emotional tribute on social media, reliving her deep sadness and recalling the happy spirit of her daughter.

Millena had also worked in the Brazilian soap opera The Childhood of Romeo and Juliet and had gained a large following on social media.

The reason why Millena fell ill and died so unexpectedly is being investigated. There has been a worldwide outpouring of sympathy from Millena’s fans and the entertainment industry for her untimely death.
