Man Arrested in Southeast DC for 3-Year-Old’s Death Makes Court Debut

Charles Rucker, the man accused of shooting and killing 3-year-old Honestly Cheadle in Southeast Washington D.C., made his first court appearance on Saturday. The tragic shooting occurred a week ago, and authorities arrested Rucker on Friday in Northeast D.C.

Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith expressed her sympathy to Honestly’s family, stating, “We know today’s news does not make you whole again.” The community continues to mourn the loss of the young child as the investigation remains active.
