Chopper 6 footage showed intense flames engulfing the building as emergency crews rushed to the scene. Hazmat teams are currently monitoring air quality in the surrounding area, urging anyone within a one-mile radius of the complex to stay indoors and avoid businesses until further notice. As of Tuesday midnight, authorities reported that the fire had not yet been brought under control.
Fortunately, all individuals inside the building at the time of the fire have been accounted for, and no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and officials are working to determine the exact source of the blaze.
Due to the ongoing emergency, the Abington School District, Jenkintown School District, and all private and parochial schools in the area will be closed on Tuesday.
