February 6, USA: Billionaire Elon Musk and his team of young tech engineers rip through the federal government forcing scores of federal employees to be put on administrative leave, pressuring more to take buyouts, and crippling agencies that support some of the poorest people in the U.S. and around the world, he is doing it all with his signature trolling, mocking his critics and targets along the way.
Elon Musk has been actively sharing updates on his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiatives, posting nearly 200 times within 24 hours from Tuesday to Wednesday, according to an analysis by a report.
The billionaire has openly ridiculed critics, including members of Congress and federal employees affected by the restructuring. He has also revealed upcoming agency targets through his social media platform, X.
As congressional Democrats push back against Musk’s actions—both through public rallies and legislative hearings where he has remained undeterred, frequently mocking them on X with memes and emojis. Earlier today, Musk responded to House Oversight Democrats’ attempts to compel his testimony with a dismissive post: “How is this reality? Lmaooo.”
Musk has also used his platform to poll his 216 million followers on whether DOGE should audit the IRS, offering response options of “Yes,” “F Yes,” and “No.”
In response to a user who praised him as an “Effing legend” for allegedly “finding the source code” and “hacking,” Musk shared an image of a T-shirt reading “The SYSADMIN” which is a reference to a popular IT meme likening system administrators to the puppet-master logo from The Godfather film.
Meanwhile, employees at multiple federal agencies, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), are scrambling as DOGE enforces spending cuts and eliminates diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs.
Musk has now updated his X bio to describe his role as “White House tech support,” a title he has reportedly used in conversations with allies.
