Baltimore, May 15:Star running back Derrick Henry was locked up through 2027 by the Baltimore Ravens with a two-year, $30 million deal extension with $25 million in guarantees. With this extension, Henry has become the best-paid running back above the age of 30 in NFL history.
Henry, 31, signed with the Ravens in 2024 and produced a great season, rushing for 1,921 yards and 16 touchdowns. His play was a key factor in the Ravens’ 12-5 season and their playoff run, which featured a Wild-Card win against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The extension demonstrates the Ravens’ faith in Henry’s continued on-field influence. General Manager Eric DeCosta was effusive in his praise of Henry’s professionalism and leadership, saying, “He was just a perfect player for us last year. We’re blessed to have him.”
Henry showed his appreciation on Twitter, thanking the Ravens organization and fans: “I’m thankful & grateful to everyone who is part of this amazing organization. Working as hard as I can to help us hold up that trophy when it’s all said & done.”.
