Read Time:46 Second

Feb 4, 2025: The U.S. Justice Department has formed a multi-agency task force to fight antisemitism in schools and universities. This initiative is after an executive order from President Donald Trump, who warned ” resident aliens who joined pro-jihadist protests” that. they would be deported.

Trump has also pledged to revoke the student visas of those he called “Hamas sympathizers.”

The Education Department is investigating five universities for alleged antisemitic harassment. These universities include Columbia University, Northwestern University, Portland State University, University of California, Berkeley, and University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

The task force comes in response to a significant rise in antisemitic incidents and rhetoric on college campuses since the October 7 Hamas-led attack on Israel. Between October 7 and the end of 2023, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) recorded 732 antisemitic incidents on college and university campuses alone.
